  2.  The stars of the northern sky revolve 
  3.  in a circle dance, but slowly, slowly  
  4.  (serpent mating with tortoise). The round  
  5.  is a carol, revolving counter-clockwise  
  6.  against the sunΓÇÖs apparent motion, as witches  
  7.  turn with the left hand in, or withershins. 
  8.   
  9.  Instead of a ladle, instead of a dance,  
  10.  a Bear: a lumbering she-bear nosing  
  11.  the trunk of the cosmic tree. Or again,  
  12.  the seven sages, the Hindu Rishis,  
  13.  pace round the cosmic mountain. Instead  
  14.  of any of these, it may be a plough.  
  15.  It may be a thigh, or the leg of an ox.
